So he is a skunk? I guess that explains everything then.

The Crystal Ball (fairy tale)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Crystal Ball is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm, tale number 197. It is Aarne-Thompson type 552A, the girls who married animals.
[edit]Synopsis

A witch was afraid of her three sons. She turned the oldest into an eagle and the second into a whale, and each could take his human form for only two hours a day. The youngest fled before he could suffer the same and went off to seek the king's daughter, bewitched and held prisoner in the Castle of the Golden Sun. He saw two giants quarreling over a wishing cap, and they asked him to settle the dispute. He put on the cap, forgot he had it on, and wished himself to the castle.
The king's daughter told him that only a crystal ball would break the enchantment. She directed him to go down the mountain and fight a wild bull beside a spring. If he killed it, a bird would spring out of it. If the bird was forced to let free an egg in its body, the crystal ball was its yolk, but the egg would light everything about it on fire if dropped on the land.
He fought the bull. The bird sprung free, but his brother the eagle harried it until it dropped the egg. This landed on a fisherman's hut, setting it ablaze, but his brother the whale drowned the hut with waves. The youngest brother took the crystal ball to the enchanter, who admitted himself defeated and told him that the ball would also break the spell on his brothers. The youngest hurried to the princess, and they exchanged rings.

Wow great find. It wasn't discussed because it is obviously not that well known a story as the others are. Disney never made a film about them either.

Well it is obviously pretty obscure in comparison to Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, Beauty and the beast and Red Riding Hood. Since they did introduce the non Grimm Fairy tales character of Mulan and Jefferson from Alice in Wonderland besides the introduction of Hook and Lancelot I wonder if they'll add Disney's Pocahontas as well.

We will have to wait for that one but Once Upoin a Whatever brought a very interesting if obscure prospect as a candidate.

Maybe Count Dracula, looking for a few available necks to bite. Dracula has also been referred to as the Prince of Darkness. ("You're not my Prince!")

lol...
well i was thinking there are still tons of town ppl we don't really know that well, they are part of the crowd but if we knew where they came from or who they were, then maybe we could see who whale is,
i'd love to see Pocahontas as well was one of my favorite movie when i was younger, "colors of the wind"
and if we get alternative universe then maybe we'll see Tarzan as well, lol.. anything is possible.

i'm thinking whale is a bad guy from some childhood tale but not a major one just yet. i still don't like him
